Ferme du Bouchet is a beautifully restored 8 bedroom, 6 bathroom farm house located in the heart of the Giffre Valley in Verchaix, close to Samoens. The chalet accommodates up to 18 guests in the most extraordinary space. With easy access to the ski slopes of the Grand Massif ski domaine (5 minutes from Morillon Telecabin) it is both a superb winter and summer retreat with endless activities!

The magnificent glass-fronted property is built across 4 floors and measures an impressive 490m2. Nestled amongst 4000m2 of private gardens, the farmhouse also has it’s own sauna and steam room, private outdoor swimming pool for summer and jacuzzi for winter.

Only 1 hour from Geneva Airport plus easy access to amenities such as a bakery, pizza restaurant and ski bus.

With double doors looking onto the garden, swimming pool and gorgeous mountain views. Also with smart TV.

Main Living Area

It has 3 comfortable sofas plus 1 armchair placed around a wood burner with antique limestone mantle piece (fully stocked with logs). A smart TV sits in the corner with access to Netflix, Disney and Apple TV. There is also a charming old coffee table and trunk which are home to many a boardgame. Large sliding doors overlook a grand terrace with outdoor furniture and hot tub. You will feast your eyes on wide uninterrupted views of the mountains here!

Dining Area

Here there is a beautiful old rustic wooden table topped with toughened glass which can comfortably seat 14. A glass topped desk sits in the corner. Also facing the large sliding doors with magnificent views of the mountains.

Kitchen & Pantry

This space has a fantastically large island unit with oak worktop and 6 stools and is ideal for entertaining and relaxed eating. The hand made units are classic and chic and there are plenty of them containing everything you would need to produce a feast, along with a double range cooker, Miele dishwasher and Fisher and Paykel American style fridge freezer with ice maker. The pantry, a separate room just off the kitchen contains another double sink, bar sized fridge and a second dishwasher, also more cupboards and shelves.

Snug/TV room

Inside this wooden cladded cosy space one can be warmed by the large double sided woodburner whilst watching a film on the smart tv. An electric piano also sits in the corner.

Playroom

This room sits right at the top of the house on a mezzanine floor. It also doubles up as a bedroom with a sofa bed. There is a table football, Smart TV with games console and plenty of toys and games to keep the children occupied!

Laundry Room

Located on the ground floor, it is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, drying rack, iron and ironing board.

Boot and Ski storage room

Attached to the entrance hallway is this invaluable room with lockers for shoes and hooks for coats and plenty of space to store skis and boots.

Cloakroom/WC

This is a WC located on the ground floor connected to the entrance hallway.

Gym

This is another multipurpose room on the ground floor and can double up as a bedroom with 2 fold down single beds.

As a gym it has a great selection of free weights with a large mirror to make sure technique is correct. Dumbbells up to 10kg; barbell and bench with smith machine; kettle bells; Peleton exercise bike; floor mats; TV.

Sauna & Steam Room

A great space on the ground floor to come and relax after tiring ski day! The sauna has space for 3 adults and has a maximum heat of 70 degrees. The Steam room also has a shower which could service the gym and bedroom on the ground floor.

Terrace

This generously sized space is accessible from the first floor through large sliding doors where there are the sitting and dining areas. There is a large outdoor dining set with parasol which can seat 12-14 people. An outdoor corner sofa nestles at one end next to a contemporary rusted chiminea and a large Weber gas BBQ. The other side of the terrace is home to the 6 person jacuzzi which operates only during the winter months.

It has wonderful uninterrupted views of Le Buet and Le Criou. Steps from the terrace take you onto the ground floor patio and gardens.

Ground floor patio and vegetable garden

Another large space with dining table and chairs overlooking the swimming pool. It is surrounded by a vegetable and rose garden. Please feel free to pick any home produce that may be growing there!

Swimming Pool

Only a handful of years old, it is a 10x4m sized pool with an electric roller cover. It has a shallow end for children over 1m and a deep end where it is possible to dive and jump of 2m. There is patio to the side of the pool with 6 sun loungers and a wooden sofa. The pool only operates during the summer months.

Garden

It is unusual in the mountains to find such large flat lawn but here we are very lucky! A large football goal can be used. There is also a sunken trampoline which is also allowed to be used even though you may have to venture through the horse’s paddock. Don’t worry, there will be no horses present…. but you may get a peak of them in the paddock behind the house!
