The houses are situated within the Grand Massif ski domain, an area in the French Alps that is highly regarded for it’s extensive terrain and beautiful scenery. It includes four resorts: Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon & Samoens, making it the 4th largest linked ski area in France.
The resorts that are closest to the property are Morillon and Samoens, about 5-10 minutes .
It is also easy just to hop on a ski bus to the telecabine which stops within 100m of the property.
Winter Activities
Skiing
There is easy access to the slopes from the house via a ski bus. Alternatively, the journey time in a car to the different ski lifts: 5 minutes Morillon Telecabin; 8 minutes Vercland Telecabin; 8 minutes Samoens GME Telecabin.
Cross Country Skiing
In the valley when there is plenty of snow there are 20+ kms of groomed cross-country pistes (2 mins from the house). Equipment can be hired from any local ski hire shop. We have a special relationship with Precision Ski (Morillon) where you can obtain a discount. Tickets purchased at Samoens Tourist Office....they would also be able to give advice on instructors if needed. A little further a field up higher in the mountains (15 mins drive) there is the Col de Joux Plan with stunning views.
Snow Shoeing

Dog-sledding

Cold water swimming
Lac Bleu (3 minutes from the house) is 6-8 degrees in the winter and is amazing to swim in during the winter and summer. The colour of the lake is as its name suggests and when you swim there you are lost in another world!
Sledging
The Col de Joux Plan is the best place for this although you can always find places nearer the house. There are 3 sledges at the house and more can be rented from any ski hire shop.
Ice Skating
